Re: What's it worth?

I hate to say it but those have had the number welded over and ground back. You can see the beads of weld..... Looking closer I think you may be right, why, where and when I don't know but generally speaking it's not something you would do unless you're trying to hide something I guess? I doubt I'l...

Re: What's it worth?

Thanks for all your thoughts, I must admit it does look a bit iffy. The lad I bought it from back in 2000 was the 1st UK owner and logbook shows it as being first registered in 1998 which ties up with when It was imported, it had no engine number on the logbook then either. I think tracing any previ...

Re: What's it worth?

Thing is, the log book states 'unknown' in the Engine number section?

I guess the value will be affected by this, with prices you see all over the 'net I was just seeing what the general consensus on value was.

I really fancy a Thruxton R and was half considering selling up.

Re: What's it worth?

Here you go, as for registering, it was already UK registered when I bought it back in 2000 from the previous owner. In hindsight I was a bit naïve at the time I guess but as I've had it all these years it was never a problem, now I'm contemplating selling it I realise it may be an issue. http://i91...

Re: What's it worth?

That's right, where the engine number should be you can see the raised outline but the area in the middle is blank, imagine a casing prior to stamping.

I can take a photo and post it up.

Re: Z1b carb setup.

I get that but after it's been adjusted initially to the 1.5mm gap is it then re-adjusted after tickover is set to match where the big throttle wheel stops?

Hope what I'm saying makes sense.

This is a Z1 for £9K...and apart from the carbs...everything else can be swapped out cheaply.

What's the issue?

No issues mate, calm down a bit!

You must have been around forums long enough to know everything is commented on, no-ones having a go.

Z1b carb setup.

Setting the carbs up on my Z1b, sorted the needle adjustment by taking a bit off the top of needle with a fine file so I now have them on clip position 3 (middle), set slide height as per manuals as well as float height using clear pipe method, bike runs great and no flat spot so well chuffed. One s...
