Postie finally delivered a big box of goodies from the US . Almost every internal part is being replaced . PICT0304_zps6dd583da.jpg Even bought a complete refurbed undercut gear cluster. It's a joke that this item shipped from the states cost nearly half the price delivered than the cheapest quote ...

I cut out the ally plate the same width as the forks and guestimated the length needed (it could always be trimmed later) the ends were then radiused to match the width. I used black marker grid lines as a guide. Beating along the length pushed the metal sideways t...

Mudguard mounted. Not a lot of scope with the forks only having mounts on the front of the legs so some alloy 'Y' brackets are the best solution. I plan to paint them black so they blend in and the polished guard will float above the tyre. PICT0280_zps619a15e6.jpg A quick mock up with the bodywork ...

the 3mm was prob a pain in the arse to shape, but with the trade off of being plenty strong and plenty aluminium to sand smooth Yeah! that was the idea (and it's the only thickness these road signs come in  ) got it down to less than a 1/3 of a mill removed so plenty strong. Just need to conju...

you need to make an English wheel Did make one years ago for car panel work using a big roller bearing etc and it sat gathering dust and taking up space so gave it away as i never intended doing that sort of work again.. Would have been no real use here though as the alloy is 3mm thick so the main ...

Made a start on trimming the XJR front mudguard. PICT0255_zps19d08337.jpg But for one reason or another i wasn't happy with it PICT0248_zps0cbc1fd9.jpg Decided to go back to plan A and have a crack at whittling some of that alloy road sign Guesstimated the shape i needed , cut it out and beat the c...
