Hi jet - assuming the Marshall to be 4 into 1, I got over the same problem at a noise restricted track day by buying a baffle that fits onto the end of the can using a self tapper. This supressed the level down to 95db at 5000revs...and was removed about 1 minute later!!! Cost about ?12 to buy. Let ...

I bought two blanks from Beeezees (751 and 752) about a month ago and got one cut at the local keysmith. Works perfectly.

Done it. Several new parts and its worth it. Really good outcome to rebuild - done 300 miles ish now and no problems.

To give some closure- got the head and barrels off and it was the base gasket(between the barrel and crankcase that had failed. there were no problems with the torque settings on the head, nor any blockages in the breather system. I will have to write it off to experience. Of concern was thecontion ...
