Mystery Kawa airbox - free to good home
Got this in a job lot of z bits. No idea what it is for; supposedly a big Kawasaki. Anyone want it or know what it’s from before I tip it?

Re: Diamond Brown - Rattle Can ?
Just take a panel to a good auto paint shop and let them paint match it for you and make up either a pot of touch up or make up an aerosol. Its not expensive and decent independent auto paint specialists can mix up a match which takes account of the way that your original paint has faded over time. ...

Re: Smethurst Engine Clean
I have no idea what he means by symptoms occurring when the guides are pushed in. I am 99.9% sure that they are ceramic beads from the cleaning. After a bit of experimentation with Dremel bits I've found the best tool for the job, which does (eventually) work; I will PM you details.

Re: Smethurst Engine Clean
Thanks for all the replies. I've used an extremely fine engraving bit in a Dremel down the gap between the head and the guide and removed a tiny amount of material but also seem to have succeeded in shifting the ceramic balls. I'm going to do the same with the other three inlet valves and as suggest...

Re: Smethurst Engine Clean
I've got exactly the same issue after a recent engine clean by Steve. See attached photo. I have flattened the end of a needle with a sanding drum on a dremel and spent an hour or more picking them out but the ones shown in the photo just wont shift. I really don't want to start replacing valve guid...

Re: Z1000A1/2 Swing Arm
Sorry Keith, I wrongly assumed you were enquiring about my existing LTD swing arm. I'd be interested in one of your swing arms as it will save me having to mess about with the grinder, welder and paint. I think the A1 model used the two needle roller bearings so that one would be ideal. I see you ar...

Re: Z1000A1/2 Swing Arm
Thanks mark, yes I had thought about that but was concerned about getting them in the right place. I suppose if I install the engine, swing arm, wheel and chain, it should be fairly obvious where the brackets need to be positioned. I'll give it a go. Cheers,
Rob

Z1000A1/2 Swing Arm
Wanted; an original swing arm to suit my Z1000A1 model.
It turns out that the one I've just restored is for an LTD model and the brackets are all wrong for the A1/2 chain guard; so if anyone wants a perfect LTD swing arm, let me know.
Thanks,
Rob

Z1 Replacement Calipers Compatible?
I need a pair of calipers for my Z1000A1 (calipers in front) and was planning on using a pair of the new Z1 type calipers from Saisei. I've now found out however that these aren't compatible with Z1000A1 forks as the mounting holes are further apart than on the Z1. I was wondering anyone knew if I c...

Re: USB Borescope
The one I got has a little wheel to adjust the LED's in the head of the camera and it goes surprisingly bright. Only thing I can suggest is to put a small LED torch in there on a bit of string to illuminate the inside of the tank?

Re: USB Borescope
Yes, I bought a cheap (£20 quid ish if I remember rightly) illuminated USB borescope from Ebay a few years ago to look inside a cavity wall and have since used it for lots of other jobs in and around old cars and bikes. Image quality is well up to the sort of task you need it for.

Re: Crankcase Oil Seals and Oil Pressure Relief valve
Thanks, I tried the factory manual and also the Haynes one and couldn't see anything about which way up this o ring went. I did watch the Z900 engine rebuild video on youtube this morning though and although it is a bit grainy, I though he was installing it with the pointy side into the recess? ? ?

Crankcase Oil Seals and Oil Pressure Relief valve
First of all - a daft question, the two odd shaped o rings that go between the upper and lower crankcases and on the oil pump; which way up do they go? I assume the flat site sits into the recess i.e. when the upper crankcase in inverted on the bench the flat side is downwards and the pointed side f...
