Re: Z750 Crank & Conrod Markings

Hi Guys, back onto this engine build after some time and I’ve managed to sort everything out and started back on Crank Journal clearance. Assembled everything and platigauge checked the clearances and all well within spec. However then I notice one journal has a bit of uneven wear on it - see below....

Re: Needle Bearing Puzzle

Ok That’s a good question and I did consider to reuse them but figured that while I’m replacing everything else it would be sensible to change them too. Maybe no point? Really no point unless they are rusty or it's done a million ...

Re: Needle Bearing Puzzle

Seems that the bearings in question are all listed as the same for nearly every year. I’ll have a surf through various diagrams I guess and see what I can find. Everything else is identical just these two needle bearings! Grrr

Re: Needle Bearing Puzzle

Ok now I’m really confused. I order bearings as identified but still not correct when they arrived which makes me wonder if I’ve identified this engine wrongly!?!. Does anyone have a way to confirm the engine number by year etc? Engine Number is KZ750EE083455

Thanks guys!

Re: Needle Bearing Puzzle

Coose Good to hear from you! Sorry I meant to say ID 20mm, I measured 27mm od on the bearing but they are a bit tricky to get a proper measurement on so that sounds like the guy. The ones supplied in the kawasaki packets as closer to 24mm of and narrower so sounds like the issue is they supplied the...

Re: Couple of Non Zeds ready for Scottish Show

Thanks for the complements guys, I restored both of them 5-6 years ago when living in the states and NOS parts were in abundance which really helped with the F8! Ossa was a bit harder for parts though. They were in storage for a few years as I moved around a bit so just happy to get them out on show...
