A lot depends on how a rebuilt engine is run in,always used cheapo oil and used the bike on the road varying load and revs within limits,seen more than one bike with glazed bores due to being run in incorrectly.

Thats good its running now,check batt volts at 3k revs should be around14.6 volts,check coils getting full battery voltage,when bike not running.ign on.Best to take her out and give it the beans ,check plugs then, doing a plug chop if poss,starting up and letting it run a lot always seems to do more...

100 PSI is service limit,would guess 10% extra when hot on your cold readings,throttle fully open.

Chris sounds like a set up or advance prob,set the dyna with a strobe on full advance making sure it goes on the f mark,you say you timed it statically if find it best to do it dynamically and this will check as Mark says that it is advancing correctly.Have alaso known Dyna s units to be assembled b...

Hi, Best way is to lightly turn screws in clockwise till they bottom out,put a light centre punch dot or scribe a scratch is and indicator in line with screw slot,start at 1 1/4 turns out and go from there..If it was running ok before,would start with fresh fuel and some decent denso plugs,let us al...

If using hollow pistons be sure to use 9mm thick pads non sintered,if using solid type pistons with heat sink, you should use sintered 8mm thick pads,not a lot of movement on these back discs and you can end up with brake drag and over heat issues...

As Phillipe says,the only seals worth using are gen or Viton,all the ones out of gasket sets give up in very short order!its is possible to replace seals without head removal,never done it myself but have seen vids using compressed air and coiled rope,know at least one respected member on here who h...

Have seen one of these(or very like it used) seems to be a lot of work to get good results ,especially with cleaning up parts,the results were ok but not as good as pro job.Got a place local who would do(at one time at least) a bucket full for £25....
