just seen a 12mm to 8mm brass right angle fitment on ebay. As its only £4 I've taken a punt and ordered one

Thanks Al, its quite a short tube so a joint might be tricky. I found a 11 - 7mm reducer pipe for a VW sirocco which may fit so i ordered it. Ideally it should be 12 - 8 I think....lets see I saw those pipe on ebay, they are silicon pipes which i dont think you can use for Fuel! Rob let me know how...
