I had a similar, intermittent problem on a Z1B. After many hours of wire twiddling, coil swapping, plug changing and swearing, I narrowed it down to the LT cables from the points to the coils. I had a spare , stuck it on and good as gold since ( he says with fingers crossed !). Maybe this could be y...

Thanks Paul and Hobbo for your kind offers. I want to fit new shiny ones as the old ones have rusty threads. If the ones are offer are good as new then there are some beer tokens waiting !

Fitting a new rear tyre this week for the mot so thought I'd get these changed.
