Hi Scott
welcome to the club!
The Gpz750 R1 is a good choice, I've been told it's a reliable bike.
Let the good times roll.
Greetings from Belgium.

Re: Original Finish on rear axle, swing arm ,engine mounts
Hi z2.John
I'm glad you confirm my thoughts. All the Z bikes I have, have a chromed swing arm nut.
I was afraid that I was wrong all the time.
Only the Z1000H has a zinc plated swing arm nut.

Re: Original Finish on rear axle, swing arm ,engine mounts
Hi
I think that the swing arm nut ( the big one that sits on the left hand side of the frame) was chromed...correct me if I'm wrong please.

Re: Valve Clearance Queries
Hi Warren I've never experienced that the intake valves close up faster. Once the clearance is set correctly for all the valves, it stays good for a long time... perhaps because I almost never let the revs go higher than 5000 RPM and I always ride in a very cautious manner. I've always been told tha...

Re: Valve Clearance Queries
Hi Andy I always take a clearance between 0,05 and 0,1 for the intake valves (closer to 0,1 or a bit more if possible) and between 0,1 and 0,15 for the exhaust valves( closer to 0,15 or a bit more if possible). The exhaust valves get hotter , the intake valves stay cooler due to the passage of the f...

Re: Belgian Rally
Hi men I'm sorry, I won't be there tomorrow... I've hurt myself a few months ago when pulling a bike of which the rear brake was sticking. Since then my right leg, shoulder and wrist hurt. When I'm sitting for 20 minutes I get a pain in the back of my right leg that becomes unbearable. I was hoping ...

Re: New Member from Swindon
Hi Colin welcome to the club! Nice bike you have there, congratulations! I think it's normal that they run a bit rough when the engine is cold. Don't expect much of it for the first 5 miles but when the engine is warm, it should perform great. If not it'll need to be taken care of by a mechanic who ...

Re: Z1R restoration project
Hi Peter the wheels were originally painted satin black with polished rims and spokes . The original windscreen was smoke colour and to my knowledge no longer available from Kawasaki. There are replicas for sale. If you have a look on "Evilbay "you can find them. ... or you can have a look...
