Air Filter

Was thinking about replacing the stock filter on my z1000 A2 with K&N pod types which I think look good - Is this easy to do and what else do I need to consider.Are K&N the best option and what size do I need to look for ? Cheers all. :blah

Drain Fuel Tank

Stupid question but whats best way to drain fuel tank (full) on my 79 Z1000 - Use jiggle syphon to drain most fuel then drain rest using drain point on tap ? Also the fuel/vacuum hoses seem tough to remove from petcock - any tricks here ? Cheers All.

If I decide to treat myself to Denso IW24 Iridium plugs, will they fit and work with stock ignition/plug caps etc (Currently using B8ES NGK plugs) as I understand they are "Resistor" plugs too ? Cheers. :roll:

Just thought I would ask Sparkplugs.co.uk as when I search that site for suitable plugs for a 79 Z1000 it suggests the Resistor (W24ESR-U) type - They say that Denso only recommend the resistor type (Or Iridium which also has a resistor) for any Z1000 model and if I decide on the non resistor (W24ES...

Ummm I've got B8ES plugs now so would resistor R type Denso's not be right ? sorry to appear thick !!

On my 79 z1000 A2 - Normally should the engine still turnover (but not fire up) when the starter button is pressed and kill switch "off" ? Cheers all :wow

Yeah it's a uk bike - 1 prev owner who was my best mate and can't think anything would have changed from stock but who knows !! Thanks anyway :D

Thanks all - Yeah need to give more thought as the current bog standard set up is running just fine - Might just replace points with some genuine Kawasaki ones and replace plugs with some new Denso's on next service.If there is a prob with the coils in the future maybe that would be a time to consid...
