wait till the wife/ partner's out. Sneak into the kitchen , fill the washing basin half full with boiling water from the kettle then float the case in it ( interior of cover uppermost). Don't overfill it so water gets inside the cover 10 mins later and the alloy cover will have expanded off the sta...

I have a couple in the loft, will look in the new year what they are like, from memory they are not pristine but are useable and most of all solid . :up
