i welded a small piece of tube to a threaded bar then squished it a little in the vice until it fitted over and held it lightly .... worked a treat

Would I be right in saying thats a 4 bolt front wheel , you may be better off sourcing a complete wheel in decent condition as you will need the hub and discs as well ........and I would probably put the correct forks in just to get the right period look , does it have the earlier clocks and yokes ?...

Hi ..i am rebuilding a set of forks that came in pieces and want to make sure I have them in the correct arrangement Looking at the pic do I have all the parts in the correct order ? Also the bush at the bottom looks like it can go on both ways ( there is a lip at one end ) which is correct ? Thanks...

I had the same problem ...... loosened of the clamps on the bottom of the forks and gave it all a jiggle and it fell into place Cheers Chris, problem solved. Some head scratching and a senior moment, losened fork bottoms and they sprung inwards ever so slightly to fit flush with spindle ends. Exact...

Just a thought ..... have they used the correct valve spring retainers for the shim under bucket ?
I believe they are different to the shim over bucket ones and maybe that broke the shims
