MkII Head Fins
Needing to finish of the outer fins on the head of my A3 MkII. See a mixture of photos on site with fins left painted but can't find any that are bare and how far around they go. Been 25 odd years since I had mine and no way is my memory that good !!! Can someone help out with high res photo showing...

Coming alone fine Nico. Hope your going to bare metal the outer edges of the head fins? They look unfinished if not. It's easier to do with the head off. Yes only two things left, re-paint the outer rim of the clutch cover and strip back those outer edges. Just need to research how far around to go...

Barrel on yesterday so couldn't resist on resting the head on for a few quick happy snaps from the cr@ppy phone camera. Happy with the way the heart is looking... http://i966.photobucket....

Piston Setting
Feeling a dunce at the moment, about to put the barrel on and with oversize pistons fitted they haven't got the arrow. Didn't take a photo on disassembly and I'm second guessing myself now. The smaller recess to the front as below is correct ....... isnt it  http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/...

Cheers Olly, slowly making headway. Have the opposite problem of you guys up there at the moment I'd say, bit hot out in the shed during the day so evenings are the time to get in a few hours. All frame and parts have been two packed in semi gloss, I did some of the smaller parts but had my sons mat...

Revisiting an old thread. Have the 1075 kit in my bike, there were leaks from around the head. I have the copper gasket (72mm) and as you can see there was blow out on No.3, or it appears that way. http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae144/mnico/Mobile%20Uploads/image.jpg I hear of this thing where t...

Stu As soon as you mentioned it bingo the dim lights lit up and now I know exactly what you are alluding too. I didn't get any with the gasket set I picked up so another conundrum. There weren't any fitted on strip down so I am guessing the barrels are fine, in saying that though I am not in a huge ...

Cylinder Base Spigots - 1000cc
First of no doubt screams for help. Bottom end is assembled and starting to line up to fit the pistons and slip the cylinder on. The Clymer manual specifically states For the 1000cc - Install a new O ring around each of the 4 Cylinder base spigots. Now I cant find these so called O rings in the part...

Began engine assembly today, didn't get too far into it when had a critical failure. Had everything in and settled, placed the camshaft cap on and started doing the bolts up in cross sequence two stages up to 18 ft/lb when that horrible horrible sound and feeling happened. 35 y/o bolts get a bit old...

Well another day in the shed, had a bit of a clean up as things getting cluttered. Put a coat of paint on the barrels and the head. What a pain spray painting the head is, being a novice spray painter I been told black is the hardest colour to paint and looking at the head its got to be the most dif...

Love the bike(not the exhaust ). Im a bit of a purist too and that is one thing I hated. That 4 into 1 has already been sold, I have a balanced view on life and believe only 4 into 2's belong on the MkII. Received but yet to be unwrapped from Tranzac in Queensland. Brand new 4 into 2's. http:...
