Maiden trip Z1000A1
Hi men this morning the license plate for my Z1000A1 arrived. This afternoon I received the insurance papers. Now it's time to break her in. I made a first trip of about 80 Km around my village and she performed very good. Handling, riding and breaking was excellent, no bugs so far. DSCN4892.JPG A p...

Hi slacker
have a look at this one:
https://www.leboncoin.fr/motos/19524360 ... 4051296304
It's in France and I have no idea about the condition but I think the price is OK.

Re: Info for a newbie
Hi awmac45
thanks for the picture!
She has the looks of a Z1A but I think it's a Z900A4.
Only the frame number and the engine number can make things clear.
Perhaps Ian can tell you more about her story.

Re: Gpz 1100 A2 (Uni-Trac) restoration
Hi guys time for an update! A few weeks ago I gave the body parts a "firecracker red" coat of paint. They were able to dry a few weeks in order to let the paint cure and to make sure that no bubbles would appear after putting the decals on. DSCN4882.JPG This morning I decided to put the de...

Re: Help with wheel rim codes
Hi John the rear rim is a 303 which is OK, the front rim is a 305 and that's not so good. The 305 rim was used from the Z900A4 onwards. The wheelhub of a 305 front rim is smaller than the wheelhub of a 303 rim (Z1-A-B). The spokes have a different angle and using a 305 rim on a Z1 hub could cause th...

Re: GPZ11 Injection
Hi Pete I see you have the same issue as I encountered...I think that 90 % of the UT's have it. In the manual you can read that Kawasaki gives the advice to clean and put new grease in the linkage system when regular maintenance is done to the bike. Obviously it was often neglected. The measurements...

Re: She ticks over a little lumpy like!
Hi Stuart start her with the choke and give her a minute or two, try to twist the throttle gently and if the revs go up and the engine responds to the throttle, lower the choke. If you want to know if the engine is at the correct tick over, check the revs after 15 minutes riding, when the engine is ...

Re: Z900 caliper
Hi Stogmuller
you have to remove the mounting bracket first by unscrewing the two bolts.
put the piston back in the caliper before you can remove the mounting bracket.
Good luck

Hi Bevelhead
that seems to be a good project to me! It's great to see a bike brought back to a usable state.
Good luck with the rebuild! keep posting pictures of your progress.

Hi Dunlop4
She looks stunning, she' became very beautifull !
You managed to get the complete engine in, I'm impressed.
The front bolt should be a 310 mm long M10 bolt. I think Z-Power have those. Go for it.

Re: Z 1000 St E2
Hi Dunlop4 That looks stunning! I hope you have someone to help you to get the engine in, it's a heavy lump of metal (more than 90 kg) !!! Mind your back! Don't scratch the engine or the frame, put isolation foam tubes over the frame and tie them down. Oh and one more piece of advice; remove the cam...

Re: Project prices.
Hi Joe I have no idea how much people ask for a Z1000 or for a Z1000Ltd project in the UK. I live in Belgium and I've bought most of my project bikes in Belgium or in the neighbouring countries (Holland and France). What I do know is that a project bike will cost several thousands of Euros to get it...
