Re: NEC bike show 2018

Just got home via the pub. Thought the show was ok but really nothing inspired me apart from the new Z900rs in all its different colours. Norton had a good prescence although for some reason slightly disappointed with the new Altlas. Can't quite sort this one out in my head........ Reckon the...

Re: Re engine oil

Morris Oils semi synthetic.

Crazy thing is i live a cough and a spit away from Morris's in Shrewsbury but they won't sell it direct only through a distribution centre/shop in Stoke
So buy it from the Stafford show each year.........much cheaper !

Re: Z1 identification numbers

Further to this great information i have re checked the wheel rims with the seller.
Front rim is 3D which i believe would be April 1973. Rear rim is 2L i reckon would be December 1972. Would this be too far out for a May 73 bike ?

Cheers for the replies.

Re: Z1 identification numbers

Hi Philippe / Garry

Thank you for that fantastic information, really gives an insight into the production dates.
I have got some pics that show 8C on the disc and what looks like 303 on the rims??????
It is indeed a May 83 bike.

I have been offered a 73 Z1 which the owner describes as original Engine number: Z1E13687 Frame number: Z1F13394 I am keen to know where and what to look for regards other identifying numbers. I understand the wheels have stamps of some sort but I don't know what. Are there other areas of the bike I...

Re: dropped my Z1a

Mine has Made in Japan on the inside.
If this means it's genuine Kawasaki then perhaps I will try and get it repaired.
Anyone got a contact for Hutch? I will be at the Stafford show on Saturday so could bring it with me.

dropped my Z1a

Moving my bikes around the garage today i pushed the Z1 off the centre stand and it fell away from me. :blush I feel such a dick head for letting this happen however luckily or unluckily (depending on your point of view) it fell onto my trail bike stand thus preventing the exhausts from touching the...
