Re: Z1000 A1 - Cylinder damper rubbers
Hi David I never paid much attention to those rubbers. I don't know what their use is. It's said they would dampen vibrations... I leave them in as long as they're in, if they fall out because they shrunk I leave them out. If anyone knows why they're in I allso would like to know their purpose. GrtZ...

Re: GPZ11000B1
Hi tjaski I have no idea what they did so many years ago...The B1 oil pressure switch is at the bottom of the oil pan but there's a wire running above the upper crankcase to what? Did they put a new oil pressure switch at the departure of the oil line running towards the oil cooler? I have no clue.....

Re: GPZ11 Injection
Hi Pete the inside of a muffler has a few plates and several pipes . The plates act like "walls" between two "chambers " and through those walls are pipes fitted. Some of those pipes connect one chamber to another and other pipes connect one of the chambers to yet another (third)...

Re: Z1000 A1 - Metallic paint or regular?
Hi David as stated before the "Diamond Blue" paint of the Z1000A1 has many shades ranging from dark blue to dark green. It changes depending on the amount of sunlight. Applying the decals is a bit tricky... I've done that a few times so I have a bit of experience but it's always waiting ho...

Re: Newbie with (k)Z650 B3
Hi oggers welcome to the club! Nice bike you have there! I'm not familiar with the Z650 but I would recommend a second brake disc and a 5/8" front master brake cylinder. Get some new tyres on it and take the sump off, clean it and see if the strainer of the oil pump is clean as KWACKERZ1 said b...

Re: GPZ11000B1
Hi tjaski is your bike equipped with a side stand switch ? Where does the blue wire goes to ? Into a multi pin connector? A lot of questions I know but we don't get much information coming from you... Give us some more pictures to make things a bit clearer. Perhaps we can give you better answers the...

Re: GPZ11 Injection
Hi Pete remember what I wrote on june 1 about the parts, when I stated that the metal part around the cranckshaft sprocket could be the remnants of a camshaft guide? I was talking about a shell from a camshaft cap... Have a look at my "identification" of the little metal pin you found in t...

Re: Z1000h exhaust wanted
Hi slacker I'm searching a Z1000H project for almost 10 years...and the search continues . One day a project bike with all the essential parts will turn up and then one has to make compromises ... on the exhaust or on other parts. They're 40 years old and rare. I'm also trying to return my bikes to ...

Re: Wiring loom
Hi Adrian after 40 + years it's normal that wiring looms are a bit rough...mind that there is a difference between the wiring of the handlebar switches between the US and the European version. The US version has no little 4 watt bulb in the headlight and the right hand switch has only two light posi...
