Well mine's all back together in one piece but not I've got more problems. Newly painted tank has a hole in it and leaking fuel, engine 200 miles after going back together, starter clutch has gone. Bike seems to be constant problems. Think I'm just going to have to turn it into a garden ornament. Br...

Thanks AL.
I measured it ages ago and think I got about the same.
Picked up a wider wheel so doing some experimenting to see if I can get it to fit.

Dimension? Centre wheel to sprocket z1000j/r

Does anyone have an accurate dimension from the centre line of the rear wheel to the inner face of the sprocket?
It's for a Z1100R but pretty sure Z1000J/R are all the same.

Thanks

I've booked Donington. I'll be there on my Z1100R. Not sure about the camping though, sounds like too much hard work for one night and the circuit is right under the flight path for East Midlands Airport. Though may change my mind if if the weather's good. Must be about 14 years since I last took he...

Just over a week away now. I'll being seeing you there.
Doubt I'll be on the bike though may be out on it the day before.
It's down at Debben's and I should be collecting it on the 17th, if not this weekend coming.
It's all back together after the encounter with the deer.

If you don't mind doing a bit of wiring, fit some relays to the headlight. You can buy them in Maplins or Halfords for about £5 each. A small drop in voltage makes a big difference in brightness with a halogen bulb. I was loosing 3 volts through the wiring of my 1100R so wired in some relays - mass...

And don't forget those magnets you put around the fuel lines to "increase power, reduce fuel consumption and emissions"

I'm interested in this thread, not because I can help but wondering how to get more power out of my Z1100R. Engine has to come apart this winter to check the crank after a crash. It's 1170cc, flowed head, PMC race pipe but standard carbs. Measured as only 87 at the rear wheel 3K miles after the rebu...

This guy has covered several seats for me and made them to the height and style I want. He's done my Lawson twice - the last time I wanted it raised up cos of my long legs, but the way he cut the material and placed the piping still made it look a really good shape. Quick turn around and always a go...

I'd like to be there but had my thumb wired together in the week so can't even drive let alone ride and my wife has chauffeured me around too much this week as it is. And obviously the bike is in no state to ride after the encounter with the deer. Sod's law my freezer packed up that weekend so nowhe...

Repairs

So who can recommend someone for bodywork repairs? I've found somewhere that might be able to repair the front dymag (it's slighty out of true) and check the forks/yokes, but need someone who can repair the tank and mudguard. The 1100R mudguard is unique to that bike so chances of getting another ar...

Hit a deer! Zed dead.

Went out for a long ride, had ridden about 180 miles then 15 mins from home a deer ran out of a hedge right in front of me. Didn't even have time to brake. I was supposed to be taking it to Germany next week! Brian http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6003/5994540977_48ff41bdac.jpg Can't tell if frame is ...

Don't know what size the Z1000 has. The Z1100R already had a 5/8 (16mm). The new radial I think is 19mm - in theory too large but radials need to be bigger. But yes, any more modern 5/8 cylinder might be better. The modern water cooled Z1000's and CB1000r's have radial cylinders with mirror mounts a...
