Update. The double edge seal on the gear selection shaft has done the trick, no weeping so far. Result! >> The weeping generator cover has proven a touch frustrating! As said I've tackled this before - I'm going for shares in new gaskets..... The Wurth sealant is suitable for use in oil, it showed n...

Frame Straightening?

Tried searching but can't seem to find much newer than 2007

Does anyone have a good contact for frame straightening?
The Guy I used last time for the A4 has retired.

Osram 'Night breaker unlimited' are standard fit H4 bulbs - extra output without using more amps. Halfrauds etc... As Paul says - the standard 40 year old wiring/switches can be used to operate a relay - micro relays from auto electrical supplies would fit inside the headlamp shell. http://www.autoe...

November week 1 update. This restoring lark is catching  Back in August I bumped into my friend Brian at the local bike shop. Z1andZ900_2015_1.jpg Registration didn't go as smooth as I had hoped, I was a touch disappointed to receive a 75 'N' reg despite my request for a period 'P' plate. Anywa...

Done this a few times now - removing it on it's side is the only way I've found to remove it without marking the frame.

Out and about - August in Northamptonshire

Took my new A4 build out for a ride and bumped into my friend Brian on his new Z1 build.
He has a few issues to sort but is getting there.
A year ago both these bikes were nothing but wrecks.

Update.. As the weekend turned out wet - I kept my limited spare time productive by addressing one of the two minor oil leaks coming from the nearside casings. First I tackled the small weep of oil coming from the gear change shaft, nothing dramatic but the odd spot of oil makes allot of mess and is...

and I didn't mean to offend by using the word purist and ltd in the same sentence!! You'll only offend those that don't matter and who cares what they think - I gave up trying to keep everyone happy many years ago! Update.. Parcel has arrived from Jeff, Motobatt and new solenoid/starter wiring read...

Mmmm considered the flat bar route, I want to keep a standard-ish look about it - and retain the relaxed riding position. I'm considering building a special in the future - more than enough inspiration on here and some great ideas. Should get the Ricks starter tomorrow, can't wait to try it :bng Wir...

July week 4 update. Was going to use the genuine tap off the Ltd on the A4 but ended up spotting this bargain fuel tap on the bay - £25 + postage. Pingel tap will be going in the draw as a spare. Z900A4_280715_1.jpg Peter James came up trumps with the insurance. Paint slot gets nearer.... Registrati...

Project Ltd Revisited...

Ok - so with the A4 nearly finished I'm going to make a start tackling some issues with the Ltd. Something RAYZ1 said on my original build thread had been rattling around inside my head for a while! I have std Z bars on my ltd now which makes it a lot more easy to ride. The original swept back bars ...

Do nt know why you say Horrid debben yellow fuel hose. Tis good stuff, and you hardly notice it. Very Happy Very Happy PS Nice looking bike, glad it is nearly sorted. The quality of the hose is not an issue, I've used debbens for allsorts over the years - they always supply tip top stuff - but seen...
