Welcome Steve.

I've got a H***a and when I first mentioned it they came round and demonstrated what they could do with the rough end of a pineapple

That's cos you fitted all that fancy heavy new paintwork. You should sell that to me and put the original stuff back on :D

Seriously, if you need a hand with anything, give me a shout.
(I've got some proper size hammers in the garage)

Did you manage to get the old one out cos I couldn't when converting my Z1 to twin disc. ? Had to buy a new switch and leave the old one in the single splitter.

They might be weak but they do the job and I've still got the paint in the same condition on the outside of the tank !

Out of one mix I did 2 tanks and every rusty bracket/bolt and nut I could find and I didn't need to panic when one of my kids went into the garage :D

Did a tour of WW1 battlefields last year....highly recommended. If you get the chance it's worth going to Waterloo as well. They have opened an excellent museum next to it in the last couple of years. Not too far from the other sites I would imagine you will see. ps Vimy ridge is another must... oh ...

A quick update on the tank cleaning exercise: I used : 14litres of Morrisons fat coke (40p/litre) Approx 4 litres of Harpic Power Plus (around £1 for 750ml) A cork to plug the fuel tap hole as I couldn't find a suitable threaded plug. Pre-mixed the coke and Harpic in a bucket until the frothing cal...

Cheers Mark, I've got some wd40 so I'll stick that in.

I don't need to line the tank, it's in pretty good nick inside, just trying to get small patches of surface rust out.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Fuel Tank Washout

Currently have the coke/harpic cocktail in the tank doing it's stuff for the next week or so.

What's the best way to clear out the residue after emptying?

What's the best stuff to put in to stop more rusting before it's back in use?

Cheers and Merry Xmas to all

That's my Z650 on their website. The pipes they made were the first attempt for a Z650 and they used an old rusty original set to copy. The quality of work is very good and although 8 years old the silencers still look like new although the downpipes have tarnished. They weren't cheap though....over...
