Forgot to mention, the bike is not mine, it was lent to me by my friend Stuart Penny after I did a full cyclinder head guide replacement and valve seat recut and engine rebuild over the August bank holiday. How good is that for a mate!!! The bike is up for sale if anyone is interested. Buzzard.

z1r Andy

Thanks for the complement Andy, I didn't think I did that much. Anyway as Zorded pointed out plenty of scope for mods and improvement, so much so I'll have to get my arse in gear and finish my bikes so you got someone to race against. Buzzard.

Leave the washer in place, but use Loctite 243 on the threads when assembling, good stuff and it won't come undone. Buzzard

valves

I would'nt ponce around with second hand valves which will probably need re-faceing anyway, and £60 for 8 new valves from evilbay/z-power is the way forward. if you need seats recut,I have a full set of seat cutters and this is a job i have done many times. BUZZARD

I had a set of 34mm amals MK2's with a home made throttle linkage on my RC1200cc motor, big valve Phil Manzano head andrews 3x cams back in the mid 80's, ran low to mid 10's all day, but that is the biggest size a z1 head (34mm) will go out to. I'd ditch the z1 head and fit a gpz1100 head fit 32mm e...
