Another thing that can cause an inconsistant fuel level could be the float pin binding. Crap build up on the pin or in it's mounting holes on the legs of a deformed leg.

Just bust the clutch cable on the ST. There's a bloke selling a genuine cable online NOS. ref 54011-070 which is from a D1 according to CMSNL. The ST ref is 54011-1019.
Does anyone know if the Z1R cable would fit my ST please?

To test the solenoid remove the solenoid to starter lead and make sure you have full battery voltage going to the solenoid input terminal. Just cleaning this up and there has been some damage. The small hole looks factory made but is it? The larger damage definitely needs a repair but was there a small hole there originally or are one or both 'modification'?
