Re: Twisted but where?

Cheers Warren, when you say use the engine, I can vertically laser the fins on the outside of the crank casings or use the ally mag and ignition covers where they mate to the engine. I suppose it doesn't matter to much really or were you thinking over somewhere else? I could possibly get the laser t...

Twisted but where?

Ever since getting the ST home a few years ago I realised the frame or yokes were twisted. I've lived with it for a couple of years but now it needs new boots I'd like to try to narrow it down. Bit of background info: The front wheel sits to the left by 1.5 inches when a straight edge is offered up ...

Re: Ethanol and fibreglass

All went well. Restom chap I emailled for confirmation on how to use it was superb. After sales 2nd to none. The tank was 5 litres brimmed which was right on the edge of 2 kits, 2 to 5l and 5 to 15l. I was advised to get the larger kit due to it being porous. It came with 2 bottle of degreaser. I us...

Ethanol and fibreglass

Not a Z, it's a TY250 so please move if required. My daughter's coming over and wants to have a play but the tank had a leak last time out. The tank rattled and fibreglass fell out. There were some bubbles in the gel coat.... IMG_20230727_161455_3.jpg IMG_20230727_161514_0.jpg IMG_20230727_161533_4....

Re: Z900A4 float levels

Another thing that can cause an inconsistant fuel level could be the float pin binding. Crap build up on the pin or in it's mounting holes on the legs of a deformed leg.

Re: ST Clutch cable

Ended up ordering an aftermarket one, will take a week to get here apparently. Kawasaki France's website doesn't show parts for older bikes, it directs you to a concessionaire, all of which are multi-marque and carry very little stock and require an email or phone call to see if / when they can get ...

ST Clutch cable

Just bust the clutch cable on the ST. There's a bloke selling a genuine cable online NOS. ref 54011-070 which is from a D1 according to CMSNL. The ST ref is 54011-1019.
Does anyone know if the Z1R cable would fit my ST please?
Cheers

Re: Wont turn over on Starter Motor

To test the solenoid remove the solenoid to starter lead and make sure you have full battery voltage going to the solenoid input terminal. If good, hit the start button and see if you've got the same voltage leaving the solenoid. You said it was clicking so the earth should be OK but worth confirmin...

Re: Z900 rear wheel fitment (yet more issues)

This spacer fits on the inside of the sprocket carrier Yep, holds the bearing in place, I found out I'd missed it on my Zeph many years ago, following a polishing mop session, on the way to France. Ended up superglueing the bearing in at Mont Saint Michel due the the rear wheel sitting at an obscur...

ZX11 Rear Mudguard hole?

Just cleaning this up and there has been some damage. The small hole looks factory made but is it? The larger damage definitely needs a repair but was there a small hole there originally or are one or both 'modification'?
