Re: Z650 refresh...
So, after losing various parts in a house move last October, I did manage to find some bits that I thought were lost. Only now I come to actually start putting things back together I realise that I have lost more than I have found. There are gnomes that live in dark corners of the garage that hide ...

Re: 1000 engine and frame no's
I know Geoff he was very helpful to me a few years ago. I'm sure he was acting in good faith but there is a serious question mark over the source of his information, I have contacted him for a comment. Another thing I just noticed looking at my A1 - the Kawasaki engine numbers had no dash after the ...

Okay then I'll say it's well stamped - I've seen more hamfisted efforts.

Vapor Digital dash
Vapor digital dash and mounting kit never used. I bought this from GBear a while ago when I was gathering to parts for a Z1R Gardner thing and I liked the compact size the whole thing's about the size of a Krober... anyway I have enough trouble finishing the stuff I have already started much less on...

The frame number's A so it shouldn't be police, but with a six digit 5 number it's a Nebraska bike?

It's a P...? What's the frame number?
Doesn't matter much - take the cissy bar off and get a non LTD wheel, a quick buff up and it's a good user

Re: STEERING LOCK
My A1 has a different lock for the seat and the ignition it's been in the family since it was a year old and none of us ever changed it, so there's a good chance it's always been like that.

1000R forks
Can anyone tell me which way up these two springs on the damper rod of the 1000R go? I'm sort of assuming the thinner coil one goes above the thicker one?

Re: Z1000J Camcap bolts
I think the J type heads seem to be a bit dodgier in the cam cap bolt region than the earlier ones. How much of that is to do with the erroneous torque setting in the manual and subsequent over enthusiastic fettling I don't know...
