Good work so far Freddy :up The circlip in the master cylinder is steel - the cylinder is aluminium - with enough persuasion it will yield. Both the steel and aluminium have corroded, the mixed corrosion reacts and sets like concrete - but is not as strong as it looks - I have had success using a h...

but u cant blame people who bought them back in day and have held onto them; when I bought my ELR 1100 about 8 years back, the mudguard wasn't great, I contacted dave marsden who said he had a NOS one, it cost me £200 then; I took the original off and found a local car guy who welded and repainted...

One of mine has the stays cut down to lower the mudguard, but standard that's how they are.

Re: Paint
Hi Can anyone let me know the best place for a re spray on a Z1B. It must be not too far from Bedfordshire and not a stupid amount of money if such a place exists? I have been quoted £712 from Dream Machine nearly the same money as a set of panels and tank already painted. Any info would be apprec...

I'm on the case to have some braces made up, but the folds are curved so it's taking the company that's doing it some time. It's a love (of me) job so I can't push too hard, but I've just given them a £20k order so maybe that will concentrate their minds a little. I have 2 genuine mudguards, but I ...

keep you fingers out of the way!! Someone very clever (not me) said that you can pump out jammed pistons with a grease gun. AL I've got a stuck piston in a GS1000 caliper at the moment, compressed air won't shift it, I'm going to rig up a front master cylinder to and old set of bars, connect with a...

Thanks men, not as hard as I thought then :) Make sure you clean out the groove where the piston seal sits, it can get corroded and aluminium expands when it corrodes, if you don't clean it out properly it can be a devil's own job getting the pistons back in and if you do they can drag.
