1972 Z1 Recommission / Rebuild - Vin # Z1F-01173
New thread to document the re-commissioning of my 1972 Z1, manufactured 10/72, Vin # Z1F-01173. The KZ1000 MkII that I restored earlier in the year was sold to make way for this project. The bike was purchased from the second owner in the USA. She has been off the road for many, many years, dry stor...

Thanks Nigel. Going a slightly different direction with this one - going to carefully clean / repaint some parts but aiming to keep as much originality as possible. Will start a new thread to explain..

Re: 1980 KZ1000 A4 (MkII) (pic heavy)
Apologies for not replying to the previous two posts. @Gavin Looks like another MkII is being resurrected which is great. @walshyco The finish on my wheels was a final lacquer finish. The bike is now back in Japan - and I purchased an early '72 Z1 with the proceeds - I'll start a thread on that bike...

Re: 1980 KZ1000 A4 (MkII) (pic heavy)
Just the finishing touches to come. Body set and wheels now fitted. Have to say I’m pleased with the overall appearance.. Need to clean and refit the fuel tap (and check the vacuum operation). Waiting for speedometer cable to arrive from Kawasaki. Still need to source the correct side cover badges a...

The former works, but it's not right. Also, I don't lever circlips out wi...
