I am making an assumption that you spinning it with the starter ? if so take out the plugs and try "flicking " the points open with a screwdriver whilst watching them, this is because the drain on the battery may be taking the voltage to below the 10 volts necessary to trigger the coils to...

Koni "Dial a rides" are good and they come up second hand occaisionally the modern equivelant are Ikons I believe, but you could do lot worse than contacting hagon directly and talking to them as the are very approachable , just saying

Aye up guys, the fuel lines on my z1000a1, duel feed, the internal bore is 6mm, if I put an in line filter into each line, which are sold as 6mm, would they reduce the flow to effect the performance, as the inlet and outlet is about 4mm, just asking. Im pretty sure you don't ride it fast enough :?:...

Spose the first question would be does the old one fit fine and is it plain or shouldered it , is it the same as the new one in terms of thickness and is the plain collar sitting all the way in the output shaft oil seal, oh and post some pictures and I am going to move this to bike help

Voicing opinions is always dangerous however if its ticking over too high but all else is ok , then mine is you have a slide sittng high & probably needs balancing, I have found Morgan carbtune kits worth every penny :)
