My Other Bikes

Cleared the garage out and found the speed triple hidden away at the back! Great bike but wish I still had the 'Rex that I sold to buy it - seemed the right thing to do at the time.......... http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii254/bulldogbobby/SAM_0088.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...

That's the politest thing I've heard all week! My wife says the same thing but uses slightly different words to express herself! :D
And anyway, it's much clearer now - I can see the end wall once again! :D

Z1R - The Work Begins!

Fair to say that my garage was a bit cluttered! Much clearer after a ruthless day chucking out crap that I'd never use. Did a couple of hours on the bike today - some good news, some not so good after fourteen years of neglect! Any tips for freeing off the engine? What's the best procedure? anybody ...

Thanks for the info - any thoughts on undercoating/baking the paint etc?
Is it ok to spray a few coats directly onto the alloy as long as it's thoroughly cleaned?

(When I do it again this time, I want to make sure it lasts!!)

Engine Paint

The last rebuild on the Z1R included hours and hours of cleaning and rubbing down the engine and spraying it black. I was advised to use a paint called 'hot spot' which is a very high temperature paint designed for woodburners and stoves. Although it looked great at the time when it was finished, it...
