6" wheel
Spent most of bank hol at the lathe and mill, got the ZX12 6" wheel to fit in frame/s-arm by moving sprocket carrier further into the wheel to get the chain run sorted, got 10mm clearance between wheel rim and side of chain. Just got to make the bearing support for the 5/8th offset sprocket sur...

engine tune
London Z1, bike looks the biz. I'd have a go myself but if I was you I'd take it to Ken Coopers shop in lower Feltham, it has a fully set up dyno in the back and Ken is a dab hand at tuning asperated engines, tell him Buzzard sent you, and it just down the road for you. Buzzard.

d day
Chris, agree about traffic, but the worst thing is parking!!! Still a good place to go, bikes is probably the best option. St Mere Eglise is also good and the American cemetery at Coalville sur mere is moving but remember the British cemetery at Bayeux, 6000 British buried there. Buzzard.

bent valves
Sort it out, Pigford. Do any need to be refaced? All sounds abit flakey all these second hand parts, assuming the 8 plug head is for a tuned motor why didn't you go for bigger valves? Buzzard

valves
Pigford, or anyone else out there, I don't know if you are aware, I do quite a lot of Z cyclinder head work, valve guide replacement, valve seat cutting, 3 angle seat cutting etc, etc. I now have a valve refaceing machine which resurfaces the 45 degree surface back to new. So valves that were previo...

Needaz1100r, your right, slight slip up there but you know what I ment, starting the engine at 10 degrees btc is much easier than 20 degrees btc, that's the setting I used on my 1425cc aspirated bike without any grief. And answering you other question I haven't seen Colin Cowley for 20 years, but th...

compression
I would try advancing the ignition timing so it fired at 10 degrees btc instead of 20 degrees standard , this would then make fully advanced timing 30 degrees btc instead of 40 degrees btc, but this is fine in a high comp motor. Alternatively if you fit a Z1 advance/ retard assembly they fire at 5 d...
