It was deffo a teardrop style tank.....I've just looked and can't find it on ebay anymore....I'll look a little harder later on.

But I'm comming to the conclusion it may be one of the american 'J' type tanks.

Noticed some tanks on eBay have a bracket at the back of the tank to bolt it down instead of a rubber band.

can anyone tell me what model this changed?

Interesting find... But I think our bright idea of brazing in a new part of the tank has been blown away by the simple thought....why don't you just get another tank! Seems we tried to be too clever :roll: Hopefully I can do a deal with Ted and matey can toodle off to the MOT station feeling confide...

When you say extenders...are they origionally intended just to fit over the existing mounting points?

i was going to get some turned up for me but If I can but a set over the counter it would maake life a lot easier.

Managed to have a look at some pictures of an ST tank and the mounting points are much higher near the headstock...suppose it allows the tank to be closer to the frame & hence hold more fuel.

Old Zed...just curious....

What area does it not fit?

Would i be right in guessing it's towards the rear of the tank and fouls on the frame.

Andy, Thanks but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fit a Unitrak frame and I wouldn't like to trash a usable tank anyway....

.and don't want to pay the price of a good 'un'

Does anyone have a bashed, knackered or leaking GPZ1100 unitrak tank for sale.

I only need it for the underside. ( Going to weld it to a mates tank that has rusted through underneath.

So the upper part can be in any disgusting condition.
