Pair of discs - Z900A4

Really is time I replaced the poor old discs. Anyone got some good ones (or new) for an A4?

Cheers, P.

Jesus Harry - you're right! That puts a new complexion on it. I'll have to see what other sources I can find. P.

Thanks for the offer Steve - much appreciated. I think I'll just order a new pair though - seems the easiest all round. Hadn't realised how much it cost to do a re-chrome these days!

Fork re-chroming in Portsmouth area

Does anyone know of a decent shop for re-chroming forks in the Pompey area? I'll be there for a week in a month or so and need to get the things done.

On the other hand, with the cost of re-chroming these days maybe I'd be better off with a new set for £75 from Z-Power. Any views?

Cheers, P.

I'll stick with the standard for now. Got enough problems caused by knacker'd cam chain. Hrumph, moan, belch.

Pigford - what's your carb set up for the 1045? I'm just fitting a bored z1000 block to my z900 and wonder whether the standard z900 carbs will do, or whether I should re-jet. Waddya think?

Part of the trouble is there's not much room with the new tap - in fact hardly any. Just can't get the hose on as it is, no room to push and pull.

Tried warming it up by holding a Zippo underneath the hose but the resulting firestorm is currently engulfing the whole of eastern Spain.

The vertical tube is almost exactly the same length as the standard tap - but a LOT fatter, which can only be good news. Should give the same or very similar reserve at any rate. I've got the tap on but couldn't get the hoses onto it. Turns out my hoses are 6mm ID and not 6.5 which they should be. G...

If that is all okay I'll check this out: If all this is correct it may be worth looking for a stray connection from the alternator wires to somewhere on the switched DC side. This is most likely to occur on the main connector blocks on the electrical plate as the alternator wires are bus-wired throu...

If you've just put it all back together I'd say it could be any one of a number of things!

I'd check ignition - standard points? - did you fit new condensers? - coils okay?

Also, obviously, carbs. Did you clean them all out?

Cheers, P.

Fitting a Pingel

My gorgeous Pingel fuel tap arrived from Debben today - thanks Steve. Just wondering if there's anything I should know about fitting it. I understand I need to use plumber's white tape on the lower thread (ie where the tap joins the adaptor) and not the upper thread (where the adaptor joins the tank...
