Replacing the original Z1000-A1 rear footrest hangers
Hi all I want to remove the horrible pressed steel footrest hangers and have some brackets welded on so that I can use some triangular-style ally ones instead. I'm not planning to use rearsets, so I don't need to mount them particularly high up or far back. Also the bike will be running a 4-1 and no...

Swapping the fork legs over on Z1000A1 to put the calipers behind
Hi all I've often seen and heard about switching the forks over to put the calipers behind, like they were on the A2 and later. But what about the little lug on the lh fork leg that stops the speedo gearbox rotating? Does it need something added to the rh fork leg to stop that or is it not a problem...

Re: Old-style fork damper rod hell
Thanks all. Yes I've ordered a bit of 19mm steel pipe and I'm going to try to make one myself.

Old-style fork damper rod hell
Hi
On my Z1000-A1 the fork damper rods are the almost round variety and no-one appears to do a tool for these - or do they? Or do I have to make my own
Oops - I see that someone in the States does one. Anyone in the UK?
A photo of a similar damper is attached.
Cheers

New here, new project
Hi I've just bought a Z1000-A1 in bits... I used to have one back in the eighties - well, it was a crashed one that I built up as a Harris Magnum II. Will be looking for info and a few parts inevitably... I have owned many Kawasakis over the last 39 years including singles, twins, fours; two and fou...
