I bought from a guy local to me about 6 months ago. He had it over 8 years. Got quite a bit of history with it and I can't see it's ever been north of the Midlands………but I could be wrong !

I haven't had the clutch apart, it's as I got the bike in March. I have changed the oil and using Motorex Motorcycle Oil 4T 10/40 from Saisei. The clutch seems to be working fine once I've "broken" the seal. Feels like the plates are sticking to me. Thanks for the kind words on the bike…...

Z1B Out for a run

Finally stopped tinkering and took the Z1B out for a decent run. In spite of all my fiddling (inc completely stripping the carbs), it ran really well. Only issue is that the clutch seizes if the bike isn't used for a week or so. Have to free it by rocking the bike in gear. Is this just due to lack o...

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to go with NW66 and have ordered the Pingel one. It's a bit pricey but lasts forever and has 2 inlets and 2 outlets so only one filter required.

With the Pingel filter, I presume I would need the 2 lines in, 2 lines out model and therefore only 1 filter for the 2 carb inlets?

Inline Fuel Filters

Just overhauled the carbs on my Z1B. Also the (original) fuel tap. The carbs were pretty dirty and the fuel tap had lots of debris in it. I want to fit inline fuel filters to protect the carbs. Which ones are recommended ? do they have to be a certain size (diameter)?. Any comments/advice welcome.

I want to keep the bike to original spec. I've bought a s/hand one from flea bay….hopefully it's in better nick than mine. Think I'll put a new spring in for peace of mind.

Cam Chain Tensioner Cracked

Decided to check out the operation of my cam chain tensioner this afternoon. Removed it and it looks like the metal block in the holder is cracked. Is this a common problem? It's from my Z1B. Should I be panicking ? Can this bit be sourced separate from the whole tensioner? Comments please…… http...

Carb Choke Tube Missing

Hi, I am overhauling my carbs from a Z1B and on removing the float bowl on carb no4 found the brass choke tube thingy missing! Does anyone have a spare or know where I can get one for a few drinking vouchers? I presume these are an interference fit…how much heat/brute force is required to get them...
