KZ1000A1 footrest studs

Please could you help?
Are the front footrest studs threaded into the frame or just locked in place by the nut at the rear?

Thanks Roger

Re: K1000/KZ1100 Fuel tap gasket/rubber

I finally used my loaf and when I looked properly I could see faint marks were the original rubber gasket sat on the tap handle flat. The grooved side goes against the tap body face.

K1000/KZ1100 Fuel tap gasket/rubber

Please could someone advise me which way round the fuel tap rubber gasket goes in. It's the round one with 5 holes in. One side has a groove right around the outside and the other side is flat...ish. It's been a long time since I took it apart and I can't remember. Thanks in anticipation. Roger

Re: Running rufff

After I've put carbs in the ultrasonic bath I tend to use carb. cleaner spray to make sure that all the drillings are completely clear - you can see the fluid exiting as it should (be careful not to get an eye full). After all it's such a pain in the arse to get to this stage, it's worth making doub...

Re: Z1000A1 looking to sell

Just to round this off, I bought Mark's bike and absolutely love it. It came with loads of spares, new and old and with a lot of history too. I'm on a complete nostalgia kick because my dad bought a Z1A from Ray Round in 1974 GUE440N (I think the price was £1147.00 and it was delivered to you in tho...

Re: KZ1000A1 Throttle cable bracket

Thanks all for the detailed response. I'll leave well alone. For info. I bought Mark Tillers lovely KZ1000A1 a couple of weeks ago. It's great to have it in the shed. I've wanted one for a long time. Of course I can't help but have a fiddle...

KZ1000A1 Throttle cable bracket

Help needed please.
The two riveted parts of my throttle cable bracket have become a bit loose. Do they respond well to a large hammer and punch or is it best to drill the rivets out and replace with nuts and bolts?

Thanks Roger

BS34 diaphrams

Could somebody help please...How do I get my diaphrams to fit snugly into the groove all around the top of the carb body before I put the carb tops on. They have been apart for a while and it's as if the diaphrams have shrunk back a tiny bit making it near on impossible for them to be held in positi...

It's probably a good idea to sell it otherwise it'll sit around forever doing nothing. I'll let you know when it's off the bike.

If you google 'real classic petrol tank cleaning and rust removal' you will see an excellent method by Les Howard. I'm about to give it a go.

Thanks Adrian, the drawing shows it perfectly. I suppose it's possible that over the years the bolts have worn themselves small shoulders. I'll give them a tap. Thanks again.
