Thanks. That looks like I'd have to dispense with the origional filter housing, but that wouldn't be an issue. The K&N site is useful as it gives dimentions. Will have a measure in the morning to see if this will fit the origional housing... http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=KA-1...

Z1000H air filter?

Where do you guys with the Z1000Hs get an air filter from....without paying £50 for some 30 year old peice of tat.

Is there a modern equivalent or a K&N that will fit?

Just bought a NOS KZ305 peg for 99p on Evilbay.

Pretty sure it's the same....will post a pic when it comes.

Godd old Kawasaki used lots of ancillaries from the same bin.

Do your homework and pick up Zed stuff at Yamaha prices :P

If my memeoryserves me, all the 1100 heads were the same.
Tthey only detuned the shafties by the exhaust and carbs.

I could be wrong but I bought many 1100 heads for my drag bike and not caring what they origionated from.

If it bothers you, I'd fill it with one of the metal 'weld/filler' types of glue. many moons ago when I wore a hole on my generator cover, I used a whole lotta this stuf and it worked a treat for a couple of years. the hole was the size of a penny and it never leaked untill I replaced the casing. i ...
