Stick a long screw driver through the chain from above just behind the front sprocket, make sure the screwdriver goes through a link at the bottom This will lock the chain and sprocket whilst you tighten the nut.
I hope this makes sense.

Re: Z1 reg/rec earth points
I have just fitted the reg/rectifier sold by Zpower to my Z1B, i think it is one of the best things i have done to her, I would honestly consider doing this for ease of mind. It cost £95 less owners club discount.

Re: Oil level...
I agree that it is wrong what your man said and did, I prefer to do my own oil change on my Z1B because of the washer that goes between the spring and the filter, i think it would be all to easy to over look the washer, thinking it is part of the old filter.

Re: Please don’t laugh
I went out for a ride with a few mates yesterday, Walt was saying his wife has put her her foot down with a firm hand. He is under no circumstances to buy another motorbike, the poor bloke has only got ten, his mrs has got a summer house that doesn't have a single motorbike in it. What a waste of va...

Re: Z1-B Front sprocket spacer
Wasn’t there a pin that went through the shaft that fitted in a groove on the back of the sprocket which stopped the sprocket from moving laterally on the shaft. Part number 92043-089

I have just sorted out my Z1B, i had similar symptoms, i have now fitted a new reg/ rectifier from. Zpower, i also got a second hand Stator which is definitely better than the poorly refurbished item i took off, last year i had a big meltdown on the wiring loom which resulted in new main loom switch...

Fitting a stator to a Z1B
I want to fit a new stator to my Z1B, do I have to tilt the bike over or drain the oil, or can it be safely changed whilst on the centre stand, any advice would be much appreciated

My mate had one , it was like Triggers broom, it had a couple of engines and a frame. To this day when asked he will say it was the best bike he ever had, and he only rides bike as he doesn’t have a car licence.
