Re: Z1b rear mudgaurd
Funny how there's two conflicting posts above this one "everyone's looking for one" And "ripping people off with the prices". Simple supply and demand. People are happy for their Z900A4 to be worth £15k once they've restored it, but expect to be given the rare and unavailable par...

Re: kawasaki Z1100R1 - 1984 troubles
A bent valve??, i did the valve check with fuel in the combustion chambers, and there is no leak, and yes i did the cold compression check without carbs, so throttle more than wide open. i have put in the piston rings as mentioned in the instruction leaflet, so i really don't know what i can do mor...

Re: Re chrome wheel rims
Took the rims of z1000a1 to Abrigg chrome rs in Leeds, they polished out the stamps. Then you try to explain that you could buy new rims with no stamps for less than the cost of chroming the originals so THE ONLY reason you are getting them chromed is for the stamp, so they have charged you you de-...

Re: Re chrome wheel rims
Before going that route, without pictures they sound totally salvageable. Check out quick glo from https://www.airevalleyclassics.co.uk/ if your not aware of it. You might well be surprised with the results achievable on what at first glance appears to be knackered chrome. Thanks for the mention. A...

Re: Z900 a4 frame with nova imported
Is there a problem if you fitted another engine , say a Bandit 1200 when it comes to registering . Yes, you won't get a dating letter from a club, so you would end up with a Q plate and probably need to submit for an SVA for a built up vehicle.. Best to register it with the original engine and make...

Re: Balancing Beads
They're Mag wheels. I realise the tyres must be fitted. I presumed I would have to balance and break bead to fit stick on weights into the groove between the rims, making sure not to rotate the tyre... that's why the beads are looking pretty attractive! I've only seen them used on larger tyres thou...

Re: Balancing Beads
If they are spoke wheels then fit weights to the spokes or stick on ones to the rim (externally). You need to balance with the tyres fitted so impossible to fit them on the inside which you would never do anyway. It is possible as I have done it. As someone else said, you balance the wheel, stickin...

I’m looking to replace my Z900 frame with an imported frame from America it has number of 087489 year 1976 one of 1788 manufactured in Japan for that year ?. 12AH for a Z900A4, 14AH for a Z1 and Z1000 if my memory serves me right. Z900A4 has a smaller battery to clear the snorkel.
