Re: Carbs still leaking !

more gaskets could make it worse, as you then have a larger cushion between both parts enabling you to clamp up even more, if it were mine i would pull the carbs and check the bowl faces for level as well as the carb bodies, i have seen bent corners on the bodies due to over enthusiastic tightening...

If that's the case you need to lap them with wet'n'dry on a flat plate.

Or add another set of bowl gaskets.

Re: Carbs still leaking !

I find that the cardboard gaskets need a little nip up again after initial installation. If this hasn't been done you can see some weeping, especially on the side stand. I use the Keyster rebuild kits and they come with a rubberised bowl gasket which is far less troublesome than the card ones. It is...

Re: New arrival - super nice 1000J

Nobody has asked yet Nigel so I will …. How much will you be offering it for ? Good question, haven't decided yet as there isn't much data to go on. You don't see many for sale, if you do they are 'modded'. Not seen one in this condition for a long time - last one was from some German restoration h...

Re: New arrival - super nice 1000J

Thanks all. Found the bike in my usual scouring of t'internet. Bought the bike from Germany. It's owner has been fastidious with maintenance and says the bike has never been out in the rain. (and looking at the condition I can believe that). The exhausts are in A1 condition and it's kind of a shame ...

New arrival - super nice 1000J

Picked this beauty up today - very tidy and original. The odd paint chip here and there. No rust. Carbs need looking at. In theory I have bought it just to take off the exhaust to fit to my MK2 and then sell it... But that might be a shame? https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/62334602_6525...

John, to make it look a little more authentic, just use a 900 silencer under the seat..

Re: Z900 A4 Air Box - wanted

As has been said, pretty rare and go for £500 to £700 when they do.
From what I've heard the Aussie repros will sell for similar.
The airbox you have will work just fine, so no point in changing it unless you need it to be authentic.
