Re: fuel tank - holes and rust

Hi Moizeau get a "new"tank, repairing yours is asking for trouble. The ST tank is fairly easy to find. The fuel tank of an ST only fits to an ST. You can put another tank on your frame but it must be adapted. If you're a PUM have a look at the "King's lineage" topic "Differe...

Re: Hello all.

Hi Moizeau
welcome to the club!
Good choice, an ST is a beast! Heavy but very reliable.
I have 5 ST's and experience in restoring them. A lot of parts are easy to find, some are not.
If you have a question , don't hesitate, just ask.

Re: Z1000 MK2

Hi Ultim8pc

I thought you did, but one never knows... "J" or "K" is a detail but details DO matter!
GrtZ (from a rivett counter or anorak or whatever name you give people who care about details... )

Re: Z1000 MK2

Hi Ultim8pc I don't know about a K exhaust system, A J will fit and looks the same as an A3 or A4 (MK2) Don't worry about the fitment, take care about the looks! Most of the classic Z 900 or Z 1000 exhausts can be fitted on the MK2, even a 4 in 4 if you have the brackets to attach it to the frame. I...

Z1000ST ('79-E1) Restoration

Hi men I started the restoration of a Z1000ST a few months ago. It's a bike that came from Holland and, as usual with all the bikes I buy, a wreck ... This is how it was when I bought it a few years ago. DSCN3574.JPG It was disassembled completely, the bolts and nuts were replated, the chromed parts...

Re: Z1000 MK2

Hi Ultim8pc
you're right, they are the same but with different stampings.
On the underside of the frame of my MK2 there are mounting points allthough the original MK2 exhaust I have doesn't have lugs to attach them with bolts on there.

Re: Z1B Restoration

Hi men the Z1B isn't finished yet...I planned to order a 4 in 4 exhaust in Germany at Z-Fever but André, the shop keeper, had a hart attack during the month of february and he's still recovering from it so his shop is closed until further notice... I planned to order an exhaust for my '72 Z1 and to ...

Re: New member with "Z1 project"

Hi CraigT good to hear you managed to get the engine running! The Z1 runs very fine on the 28 mm carbs but sometimes they're a pain in the a.. to synchronise. Do you have a shop manual? The correct method is described in there as wel as all the other things to know about your Z1. Try to find one, it...
