Re: Z 1000 ST ELR
Hi rickm they were mounted on a Z1000ST E2 I bought in France a few months ago in november 2021. I have no idea how they behave on the road but I'll find out within a few months when I start riding the bike. Some write that they're no good, others say they're good for the money they cost, I have no ...

Hi men I'm back! The rear caliper was assembled and then it was time to mount the rear wheel. DSCN7384.JPG Gentlemen, the bike is standing on it's wheels ! I couldn't resist mounting other parts so I started with the rear mudguard. Should I use the long one ... DSCN7386.JPG ...or the shortened mudgu...

DSCN7370.JPG After that, the front bevel gearcase was mounted and then it was time to mount the swing arm. DSCN7371.JPG I decided to mount the drive shaft...

Re: Oh dear what a mess
Hi Neilzed
it's a "private pile" with a lot of potential, see it as a challenge, don't get discouraged by a rusty frame or an engine that needs to be resprayed.
You'll get there in the end, one piece at the time!
I've restored worse than that.
Good luck
Philippe

Re: Running fault.
Hi Cville I'm not sure but they look the same, the plates where the pick up coils are mounted upon have a different number but I think that is because the mounting plate of a Z1000 is bigger than that of a Z650. When changing the coils and the magnets take care how you place the magnets on the mount...

Hi skid mark as promised the baking time for the paint: when you should use the two component paint from Restom the parts need to cure a week at 20° Celcius environmental temperature. You can also cure the paint during 1 hour in an oven at 60°Celcius. After that the parts need to be baken in an oven...

Hi men I use a two component 10 % gloss black epoxy paint (3 parts paint, 1 part hardener and 1 part cellulose thinner). The paint is from Cape . I don't think you can buy the same brand in the UK. You could use the black satin paint from Restom for the alloy engines. After that paint is dry, you ca...

Re: Indicator relay switch - KZ900 A4 LTD 1976
Hi guys correct me if I'm wrong please but the KZ900Ltd didn't had the button to illuminate the four indicators at once. The official name was KZ900B1 Ltd and not KZ900A4 Ltd. I know it's a detail but when searching for parts you need the correct name of the bike. Gus has pointed out the correct pla...

Hi tim.25
have a look on CMSNL.
Find your type of bike and look in the parts manual. It should be there.
