Re: Out with the Zs and something different

Follow the oil change procedure carefully, from memory you have to bleed the oil through by turning the engine over, apart from that slight weirdness a really strong engine so long as it's maintained properley.

Re: Z1000 j exhaust

I've got a used stainless MOTAD Neta you can have for £120 including postage, I bought it new in 2016 from m and p and it's done aboug 800 miles on the bike, the silencer is a bit discoloured and you'll need to use the flanges from your standard exhaust.

Re: Kerker original 4-1 pipe

I paid £90 for the front and mid pipes in worse condition than those, so £200+ seems reasonable

Re: Hello! New to Z1000 ownership

The bike is probably better than it looks in the pictures. Very low mileage and completely original... And please keep her that way. Paint it green with a blue and white stripe ☺ Actually do what you want with it, it's your bike. I owned mine 9 months before I rode it, I'd forgotten what din...

Measure them, I wouldn't rely on the markings on the cam

Re: Throttle response

The Delvic stainless steel 4-1 are good value for money. I think the downpipes are a little bit small diameter for an 1100R (they're correct for a Z1000J) so you'll get good midrange but won't get as much top end as you would with a Kerker or Vance and Hines, the downpipes are a little bit long as ...

Re: GPZ1100B2 cam specs

I thought 1100Bs had the same cans as 1000Js, but I've never bothered confirming this.

Re: Throttle response

What air filters and exhaust are you running, 130 sound a bit big, but might be right with open carbs.
How much advance have you set it to?

Re: Dyna S wanted

I think if you use the Ignatech you don't need to change the engine casing or need the mechanical advancer

Re: Dyna S wanted

You'll need a Z1000J engine casing, oil seal and mechanical advancer as well for an 1100R engine
For new Dyna S speak to Chris at Grumpy 1260, he's usaully cheapest in the UK.

Re: Throttle response

1100R has the same engine as a Unitrak, ignition advance is done electronically by the igniter box, I've got one you can have, but I suspect it is knackered and doesn't advance. You should be able to test the ignition advance with a timing light as I appreciate the £360 for a Dyna 2000 isn't cheap (...
