Any semi-synth 10w/40 or equivalent multi designed for bike "wet clutches" - even basic mineral oil is okay, 10/40 or 20/50 won't hurt.

Yeah, "blow thru" set up.

I got a new "non-leak" float for my Amal for me Trumpet few years back as the old one was half full of fuel - no wonder it ran rough

Had a couple of 850 Guzzi's - nice bikes, simples to work on & go well.
