I thought the USA Z1000J and LTD had the rounded tanks?
I Like the "slab" sided look of the Z1R tank. The standard tank was in my opinion a little small.

Does anyone have any specifics regarding this fitment? Photos?
I love the look of the Z1R tank, so have sourced a 21 litre one from Italy which should be here in a week or so. Cheers, Vin.

Hi Swampy - thanks for the reply, I had thought of using Roger Upperton in Leeds - as that is fairly close to me. I did not know that he did not do cranks any longer - so thanks for the heads up on that. Did you mean Chris Applebee Engineering in Essex? http://www.applebee.co.uk/contact.html It is a...

A related question to the 1170 kit.
Is it necessary to have the crank welded with a 1170 kit?

As Zorded spotted, lugs welded on both sides of rear frame for alternative shock mounting. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z85/vinenglish/GPZ1100%20pics/DSCF5089_zpsga1uhk6r.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z85/vinenglish/GPZ1100%20pics/b6_zpsf3tflzya.jpg

Hi Olly thanks for the reply and information. I had found some 1100 Unitrak calipers on fleabay for not a lot - so got them. Now as you say I need to start looking at the spacers etc. I believe that the fork legs are original - but will need to have a look at them and measure the disk diameter as we...

Thanks for the reply Z1015. I have been out to the garage and looked at the head. As you suggested, it appears to be a whole Uni engine. The head has twin swirl combustion chambers as you pointed out Also as you pointed out in the other head thread - I found the A stamped in the right hand two inlet...

Thanks Z1015, I can now say that I have a Unitrak cylinderhead to go with my Unitrak bottome end! I went into the garage and saw that the cylinderhead had the Twin Swirl Combustion chambers and after a bit of further examination found the A stamped into the right hand two inlet tracts - could not se...

GPZ1100B or Unitrak cylinderhead?

Thanks to a sharp eyed ZORDED - I now know that my GPZ1100B1 has a Unitrak bottom end in it - KZ10BE engine number. So now I need to be sure which head it has with it. The bike had the engine assembled in the frame - but I do not know if it was run. So apart from measuring the valve diameters, is th...
