Hi Steve
I know, my English isn't that good. .. but giving you the advice of dropping your carbs on the floor...I would feel deeply ashamed if I had written that. Fortunately I didn't
All the best with synchronising your carbs !

Re: Z1-B resurrection after 43 years
Hi Steve practice makes perfect ! Try to attach a weight on the wire you're using. The notch in the slide is very tiny and sits on the engine side of the slide, at the bottom. When performing a static synchronisation, loosen all the adjuster screws of the 4 slides, put the idle screw as described an...

Hi ogre
perhaps the fuel lines are bent up and thus trapping air in the filters...perhaps reroute the fuel lines if possible.

You know how hard it is to remve the paint from brake calipers? Just have a look; DSCN4941.JPG and this is how they are after 10 minutes of treatm...

Hey guys
don't underestimate the potential of rivet counters !
They're used to see awful things and have a real thick skin.

Hi kwackered good to see that you got her out for the first time in nine years. Take it easy for yourself and for your bike. It's a funny feeling when you get back on a bike after many years. Riding straight ahead is OK but when the first turn comes up...it's a bit scary. Just keep in mind that the ...

Hi Rob
welcome to the club!
Good to hear that you have a Z1.
Get some fresh fuel, add a carb cleaning product to it and make some miles, things might get better.
Oh, and as asked before: show us some pictures please, we all love to see them.
Greetings from Belgium

Re: GPZ11 Injection
Hi Derek there's no channel from one carrier to another. You can only put a grease nipple in the long central carrier because there's a space between the two needle bearings. The two other carriers have only one needle bearing that occupies the complete space of the carrier. The only way to lubricat...

Re: Carb synchronisation
Hi Gavin perhaps my reply is too late but, before bench adjusting the slides you have to set the idler adjuster screw halfway. By doing that you have plenty of play to adjust it afterwards. Bench synchronising is something that requires a lot of patience. Don't expect it to be correct from the first...

Hi Windy welcome to the club! That's the way to do it! Love to see pictures of your Z1000A1. I'm also 58 years young ( I say sometimes I'm 22 but with 36 years of experience being that age :D ), it's a great age! We can make the dreams of our youth come true and most of us have a reasonably good hea...

Hi Windy I see you joined the club almost one year ago. This is your first post and you didn't intruduce yourself. On this forum, and on others, it's a custom to introduce yourself shortly and eventually to post a picture of your bike(s). If you start with a question, you don't make a good impressio...

Re: Front brake hose splitter thingy fitting (1000-A1)
Hi TB
I've seen those spacers on the parts diagram (CMS.NL) too but I don't remember putting them there...
If the holes in the splitter are not too wide, just forget them.

Re: Painting my brake calipers
Hi Johno23 the caliper should be satin black depending on the paint, you need or you don't need to put a primer on the caliper just let me give you some advice. -make sure you have a paint that's suitable for aluminium !!! Almost all paints will hold on aluminium but some do it better than others. u...
