If using std studs, Just screw them in up to the shoulder, lightly nip them up with some Loctite applied. If using APE studs etc with no shoulder you need to apply Loctite and screw them in to the required heights. Use a spare head nut with a ball bearing inside to nip up the studs , it's quicker an...

:?? Ok, valve clearances quoted are 2 - 4 thou, or 0.05mm to 0.1mm I have minus 12 thou - or 0.3mm, so if I go for a 205, instead of the existing 245, I will have an extra 0.4mm, less the 0.3 open valve, which leaves 0.1mm Correct? I am just trying to ensure that I don't make any silly mistakes as ...

the shims are metric ....just sayin  oh dear OK - the gap under the valves is still 10 thou, and the clearance needs to be 2 to 4 thou? is this correct? Cheers for that :D You need to start by taking those clearance measurements in metric . Take them on the base circle with the lobe pointing ...

Stove enamelling won't effect it. Just thrash as normal. And if the paint is black the barrels will actually run up to 50 degs cooler than bare alloy anyway. Not wanting to cause a bun fight but I'm happy to accept certain coating can give better heat dissipation but as stove enameling is mainly fo...

As you know that hole leads directly into the exhaust port so just tap a thread partial way down and Loctite a grub screw in it. ( bit of threaded bar offcut with a slot in the end to take a screwdriver will do the trick. Make sure the corresponding ex valve is closed so the swarf doesn't get in the...

Carefully drill up the centre, tap them M5 and draw them out using a 5mm bolt and a spacer or two. Just screw in the bolt with a spacer tube between the head and bolt ( M8 nut will do the trick) and keep tightening and they will pull out. They are only a light press fit, about 10mm long and come out...

The needle JETS are the small brass insert that are a snug press fit in the venturi floor. These are held in place by the immulsion tube also know as main jet holder. Which parts do you need ? as all these are available from NRP Keyster and are accurately made in my experience. It is the needle jet ...
