Z1000 4-2 Exhaust - NOW SOLD

Still in the box it came in, an un-used club group buy Busso 4-2 exhaust that I no longer plan on using as I have decided to stick with a 4-1. The Busso System looks lovely as you can see from the photos. I am offering this together with a pair of original Z1000A1 /A2 exhaust brackets/...

Re: Strange Problem With Dyna Coils - Any Ideas?

Thanks for all the advice. With new Denso plugs fitted its running better than ever. The only explanation for the failed plug I can think of is that the old NGK was on its way out and the increase in voltage from the new Dyna coils finished it off. As for why so many people have had problems with cr...

Re: Strange Problem With Dyna Coils - Any Ideas?

Thanks however the NGK's that failed came from a reputable source and have been perfect for well over 1000 miles so are almost certainly genuine.

I view most NGK's on Ebay with suspicion and have new Denso's on order from www.sparkplugs.co.uk

Re: Strange Problem With Dyna Coils - Any Ideas?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and advice. The Dyna's have been carefully installed using 25mm long nylon tubular spacers to give the correct stand off from the frame and overcome the shorting risk with the tight fitting low tension connection. I've removed the powdercoat from the underside of th...

Re: Strange Problem With Dyna Coils - Any Ideas?

Non resistor plugs NGK B8ES and Taylor leads which I think are also non resistor. I which case Rob its swap around and substitution until you come across whatever is causing the issue but start with how you have fitted the Dyna's. They are a good product but their physical size requires some thought...

Strange Problem With Dyna Coils - Any Ideas?

I'd be very grateful for any opinions on this - it has got me stumped. I have a Z1000A1 which has been fitted with Dyna ignition, standard coils and B8ES plugs gapped to 30 thou. The bike has run great like this for the last couple of years. Whilst the coils worked fine, they were probably original ...

Re: Frame part number

I've seen a frame like this with a KHI part number on the offside and unstamped on the nearside. I believe that they were replacement frames which were supplied like this. Presumably they were meant to be re-stamped with the original frame number. I also still have a V5 for a Z1000 (bike broken long...

Re: Clock top removal

The crimping rings can be careflly unpicked on the back to seperate the clock cases. New rings are available from a French seller via Ebay and with a bit of ingenuity and patience can be fitted without any visible marks and with no special tools. Pictured below are my clocks that I fitted new faces ...

Not sure if this will be of interest on here - being sold to make room for another Z project! 1994 ZX-9R (first year of production) in lovely original condition. Completely original spec and never damaged or messed with making it a bit of a rarity. 26,000 miles but really well cared for and has spen...

Re: petrol tank clean

Bilt Hamber Deox C is made for this job and worked well for me.

Afterwards I neutralised it with Acetone (cheap Tesco Nail Polish remover) and then swilled some WD40 round the inside to protect it until I was ready to use it.

Re: Rebore /Pistons

I recently used a set of IMD pistons and rings - very impressed and bike performs perfectly. As someone has already suggested, take the barrels and pistons to engine teknics in westhoughton - I used them and was very impressed. Friendly, sensible price and top work - they have done lots of z's. Rob
