Re: Running rough

As someone has already said there are an awful lot of fake NGK plugs out there at the moment, so just because they are new.....?

Re: Chrome plating

I can thoroughly recommend Agbrigg Chrome Platers in Leeds. No connection just a very satisfied customer. They were recommended to me by and I'm happy to pass the recommendation on. The owner is Sean, and he is helpful and professional. The workshop is spotless. Prices are reasonable too. He quoted ...

Rear brake light switch half nuts are M12x1.25. They are £1.59 a pair in stainless delivered via Ebay.

Re: Pistons

IMD pistons are good value and plenty of people have been using them for a good while with no issues.

Re: Mystery object

Looks like a heavy duty "speed nut" - the sort of thing that clips onto the top of the inner wing on a 60's / 70's car and is used to bolt the outer wing to the inner wing.

Rog, I think the item in the link you posted is the silencer that connects onto the Z1000 airbox

Re: Is this a Z900 or Z1000 Airbox?

Thank you all.

The air filter fitted in my photos is for a Z1000 and it fits like a glove. I didnt realise that the Z900 uses a longer filter (the taller filter stack is shown in the other photos kindly posted) so it looks like I have a Z1000 airbox.

Cheers,

Rob

Is this a Z900 or Z1000 Airbox?

Just wondering if anyone can help me by identifying what I have here? I need an airbox for my Z1000A1 but am not sure if this is the Z900A4 one? Bike is in bits so not able to try it for size. Thanks.

Clutch Adjuster Cover

Wanted: standard clutch adjuster cover in nice condition. My Z1000A1 came with the one in the photo below which I think must be a period aftermarket one. It is nice but my rebuld has ended up going all original. If anyone has a standard one they want to sell please let me know, alternatively I'm hap...

Re: Stainless Steel Bolts - Ok or Not?

Why would it be a problem to use stainless on the camshaft bearing caps?

Gaskets & Sealants

Sorry if this has been covered before; this weekend I'm planning on refitting my pistons, barrels and head to my rebuilt Z1000a1 bottom end and I'd be really grateful for a few last pointers: I'm planning on using a genuine base gasket, genuine cam tunnel shaped O ring and Vesrah head gaskets. Grate...

Re: Z 1000ST Bleed valve

I bought some stainless bleed nipples from an Ebay seller (not Powerhouse) and found that the taper seat was completely the wrong angle compared to the originals and would never have seated. From memory the originals had a 45 degree taper seat and the replacements were 60 or 70 degrees. Worth checki...
