Re: Z1000h exhaust wanted

Hi slacker
a Z1000MK2 or Z1000J exhaust will fit and those look the same.

Hi Guys

She's sold! The first man who came to have a look at it bought it.
Within a few days she'll have a new home.

Re: Z1100ELR rear brake issue

Hi Dave I hope you get it sorted! It's only a matter of giving the brake pedal enough play, screwing the push rod down . If the brake pedal sits too low or too high you have to adjust the pedal by taking it off the pivot shaft and put it one teeth higher or lower. It could be that the caliper piston...

Re: Z1100ELR rear brake issue

Hi Dave
see to it that the rear brake pedal has enough play and that the rear master cylinder can return freely. If the rear master cylinder can't return to its resting point the pressure in the rear master cylinder can't escape and the brake pads continue to push on the disc.

Re: Engine paint?

Hey Pete
you're in France! Buy the "Restom" paint (Kit moteur-noir satiné) and other products ((Alufilm 4040 clear coat for aluminium-heat resistant) from the same company, come on support the land where you live...

Re: GPZ11 Injection

Hi Pete
I think "athena" uses green gaskets, there might be other brands too...
Use Vesrah gaskets, not the cheapest but in my opinion very good ones. Buy viton valve guide seals and a viton camchain tunnel O ring.
Expensive but very good!
Keep us updated.
Good luck!

Re: exhaust GPZ1100B2

Hi men
a final update:
-the two downpipes were found in Germany, they're on the way "home"
-the left hand exhaust hanger was allso found in Germany and on his way to me.
Within a short while you'll get an update in the "project division".

Re: GPZ11 Injection

Hi Pete that looks awfull ! As far as I can see on the pictures I give my explanation as an amateur, not as a professional!!! I think that the metal parts around the crankshaft sprocket are the remnants of a camshaft guide that fell into the camchain tunnel when a camshaft was taken out. It was repl...

Hi Tafmis
welcome to the club!
Nice KZ1000 A1 you have there or is it a Z1 in disguise ? :D
Anyway it's good to see a new members bike. ( do I see a Z1000 Police bike in the garage in the background?)

Re: Z1000ST Fork Brace

Hi Mike the outer diameter of the lower fork legs is 49 mm but original ST fork legs have a strenghtening rib at the front and at the back. I don't think there's enough space above the ribs to mount the fork brace. I never tried one, but who knows, it might work. You can only be sure if you try it. ...

Re: Z1000ST Fork Brace

Hi Mike

if you have the original ST fork the brace that compoz1r proposes to you will probably not fit.
The ST forks are quite different from those of a D3.

Re: Z1000ST ('79-E1) Restoration

Hi men an update of the Z1000ST. The beast is alive, it's running and riding as it should be. The bugs and gremlins are out and I've covered 370 Km with it. She's up for sale now . I'll tell you something about the electric gremlins...OMG !!! I allmost had a nervous breakdown! When I planned to ride...
