Re: 1969 Triumph Bonny Bitsa
Soooooo tempted, but my last time with a British bike was when I was 17, bought a BSA Starfire, pushed it further than I rode it. Will keep looking and thinking though .....".......... Yes, they do need a bit of tinkering - but believe it or not, this one is pretty reliable as typically with o...

Had a bit of inspiration , she has always refused the Z in the house even when on lockdown I said it would be great because I could watch TV and have a little spoke cleaning session . So today I have made an executive man decision and that’s where it’s staying (until she comes home) What is it with...

Re: Brass Tube
The brass tubes have been known to split causing problems.
An easier repair option may be to locate a small diameter plastic pipe and slide that over the brass tube?

Re: Non starter
Dodgy connection on wiring - could be anything, but check obvious stuff like kill switch not grounding at bars, fuse box area & associated wires......etc.
Start wiggling wires - one area at a time & try starting each time - may isolate problem if lucky?
Good luck!

Re: Tappet clearances with head on bench
It will if, for example an inlet valve is open & he turns the exhaust camshaft. It's possible to open an exhaust valve onto an open inlet valve, or vice versa. True - I was thinking about getting each fully closed and the force of a different valve sometimes try's to move the cam if only half c...

The Triples club is NOT doing Stafford and the organisers confirmed we will still have our stand next year. The following are also NOT doing stafford, VJMC, Z power, Kawa Triple Spares. A conversation on the triples forum similiar to this showed every member who commented was NOT attending. If the ...

Re: Clutch switch
Those larger 70's gaps need to be filled with something or the fit will be sloppy and wear would be excessive. The viscosity of semi and fully synthetic is thinner than the same grade mineral so, to my mind, wouldn't fill the "gaps" as effectivly or for as long as good ol mineral. Banana ...

Re: Clutch switch
Regarding oil, I use bike specific wet clutch fully synthetic without any issues (no clutch slip etc). I take the line that I want the best most slippery oil I can get to protect my moving parts :Oo Allegedly , I've read tech papers stating if the oil is too SLIPPY, this can damage/wear roller bear...
