When I bought my A4 she was fitted with Z1B side panels & badges (along with the Z1 AirBox), but I decided I wanted A4 panels and badges. I got mine from Z Power; they did look a bit crappy before painting, but with a lick of Dream Machine's finest and some shiny new badges they looked really ni...

Sunny Weeklend my Zed threw a strop - Break out the Kettle

Not sure if I should have posted this on "The Shed" thread ? As the weekend weather was stunning, my Z900 decided to throw a strop: first the clutch, now the brakes have "thrown in the towel" - virtually unrideable !! Why did she wait until the sun came out to play ? Feck Feck Fe...

Thanks guys all for the pointers - will have a good look over the weekend, use these as a check sheet and see if I can crack it. Paul - re the Castrol: yes I am using same oil as before, but the slipping only started about a week ago. Bit of a bugger really as it looks like a wall to wall Sun-fest t...

Thanks for the responses guys.
The bike had a full rebuild 1000 miles ago, and I changed the oil only 300 miles ago - bog standard Castrol 10-40 mineral.

Think I will go and stare at it some more tomorrow before having a good fettle.
Cheers Tim

Silly Question of the day - have mercy on the simpleton

Guys, any sane advice appreciated I am mechanically retarded - hence the dumb question. My 900A4 has just developed an intermittent fault: it feels like clutch slip, but only when excelerating hard between 5-6000 RPM, and nowhere else in the rev range. Also, she does not do it all the time: l...

I have 28mm Z1R carbs on my A4, and is running on standard pipes - all seems ok: no leaks or problems.

Basic question - re Tyres

Folks - some advice please ? Uploaded some photos the other day, and hopefully this / next week will be fitting wire wheels to my A4. I am leaving the current tyres on the alloys and fitting new tyres to the new rims. I run Bridgestone BT 45 on my other "classic" bike and they're good; but...
