Thanks for the swift reply Kawaman. A couple of questions though, when you say you had spacers made for the arm, were these in the form of sleeves so as to avoid drilling the pivot holes on the frame and retain the stock z1000j pivot bolt ? Secondly, can you remember if there is much difference in t...

zrx1100 swingarm into z1000j frame
Reading in this months classic bike about Alan Coopers Lawson Rep the fitting off the Zrx1100 swingarm was described as "a straight swap" has anybody here done this mod and was it a straight in/ out. I've been considering it for a while now and keen to get started.
Cheers.
Cheers.

polishers
For those of you in the Birmingham / West midlands area you could try Hayden Finishing in Digbeth, Birmingham 0121 772 5064. He does a cracking job and knows bikes well so he's not likely to polish your bits away to nothing. Usually a fairly quick turnaround and he won't rip you off. I've been using...

Thanks Rich, I have got a set of Harris headers for a J and also got another system which I think is for a z900. The headers I have are a bigger bore than the z9 set so I'd ideally like to use those if I can find a harris rear section to fit. But if that fails its on with the 900 system. Thanks agai...

Yeah, I was thinking maybe 1000rx clocks may be a possibility. While the Gpz750 clocks might look more period. Have to see what turns up. The thing is I only paid ?360 for the bike and it is in surprisingly good condition seeing as it was stored for nearly 10 years in a council lock up. I suppose on...

Well thats put the kybosh on that idea then. Seriously though Jack thats the sort of info I'm after. I spose next move is to strip the drive mechanics from both wheels and see if I can junk the electronic drive in favour of the cable drive. I'll leave it until after Staffs, never know, some might sh...

Hi Jack, I've got a pair of zx750 Turbo wheels so maybe they will go in without too much fuss and was thinking of using Gpz750 unitrac clocks as the turbo clocks have a boost guage that is not required (unless I turbocharge the mutha). Another thought was to just use the speedo drive gubbins from th...

After a few weeks phoning around everywhere for a pair of second hand clocks (z1000j2) I've drawn a blank. There was a couple of s/h dealers that had some but they are asking fantasy prices. What I need to know has anyone replaced their clocks with anything else ? I'm not to concerned with originali...
