Liska and OEM

I have new OEM cam tensioner , guide roller, small rubber blocks and Cam chain guide from Kawasaki already in my hands. Im getting the 2 idler cogs and the top idler assy from Liska. Can the liska parts be matched up with the small OEM rubber blocks for the two lower cogs and the larger spare blocks...

Refurbishing Badges

Not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post but am looking at revitalising the original badges on my MkII. Am just using replicas for now but want the original metal badges back on. With that in mind and having minimal, if any artistic skills I am thinking of using an airbrush. What woul...

Re: Period Ride

There's always a eerie anticipation on what lurks under a cr@ppy ripple paint job on the motor. I already knew there was a smallish portion of a fin to repair on the barrel, IMG_0083.JPG But when we got to the head things began to get interesting IMG_0078.JPG The classic wad of resin had been thumbe...

Re: Period Ride

Things are moving along quite nicely, frame has been blasted and undercoated. Too much rain around at the moment to spray it with two pack, hopefully the weather gets better in the next week or so. IMG_2941.JPG In the meantime the engine has been completely stripped, degreased and dropped off for va...

Re: KZ1000MKII

Happy doesn't cover it, I'm over the moon. Spence's loss is definitely my gain, I had planned to put it back to standard and am dead chuffed to find the standard forks and swing arm with it, but having seen it in the flesh it does look good with the FZR forks and wheels, . Go back to standard, ther...

Re: Period Ride

A little hiccup. On removal of the motor I found one of the two bolts holding the right lower engine mount plate had snapped. Worse still was someone had 'glued' the bolt head onto the snapped portion FFS. And even worse still was a drill hole had been started that was completely bloody off-centre. ...

Re: Period Ride

Not too much progress has been made apart from getting the paintwork back. Alas on inspection there was a hiccup with the tail piece and a very embarrassed painter has taken that bad to be redone. I have sourced a local bloke who does vapour blasting, everyone else I talked to said that its best to ...

Period Ride

Due to unforeseen circumstances the J I was helping a friend do has come to a halt for an unknown period of time. Now since the MkII is pretty well sorted and I'm using it as a daily I figured it was time for the A1 to undergo a touch up. The theme for this one is black and period, as in nothing mod...

Wheel Interchangability

Just a quick question from the brains trust. I'm looking at putting mag wheels from a Z1R onto the A1. Is the rear sprocket carrier and cush drive interchangeable from the spoked wheels across to the mags, along with the brake discs ? I have got hold of a set of wheels minus sprockets, discs arent a...

Does this mean we are looking forward to a full ride report complete with photos ? Doubt I'll ever get up to your hemisphere so to read and see a neutral outlook on the battlefields with the inclusion of Zeds would be a pearler of a way to spend a balmy summers night reading.
